SOLVING THE HOUSING CRISIS REQUIRES EVIDENCE-BASED SOLUTIONS AND PUTTING OUR COMMUNITY FIRST.
This program ensures that housing development both benefits and prevents displacement of the existing community in Oakland. Our Zero Displacement Housing Program has been vetted extensively for financial feasibility by several homebuilders, including mixed-income developers, non-profit affordable housing developers, land trusts, and groups focused on tenant rights. In Year 1, I will propose a set of land use and zoning standards via a local ordinance that will implement this program.
